The children would follow me around calling me either ‘Pomui’ or ‘Potó’ which are the names used to describe a white person.

They would hold my hand, cling to my clothes and generally enjoy the novelty. I am sure they were having fun: the grin on their faces says it all! I have been smiling so much that my face was sore! What a wonderful experience!!
