GBV’s impact on women’s sexual and reproductive health is severe: women who have been subjected to violence in many cases experience trauma, depression, unwanted pregnancies or infertility and often chronic and fatal consequences like HIV/AIDS or death.
Gender equity and women empowerment need to be brought up to eliminate violence against women and children and to lay the foundation of a peaceful future for the younger generations.
